Savannah's Night in the Hospital

Yesterday I was giving Savannah a bottle on the couch and I stood up and walked 2 steps away to grab something across the room. In that time Savannah reached for me and leaned over the edge of the couch and fell off right on top of a glass cup that was sitting on the floor next to the couch. It broke when she fell on it and cut the right side of her forehead pretty badly. She also got cut a little bit on her cheek bone and another pretty bad cut all along the back of her ear. David had just left so I called him and told him to come home right now because Savannah cut her head and is bleeding everywhere! (Needless to say he said okay.) We took her to the emergency room and a quick 5 hours later the facial surgeon came, and 50 stitches later she was all put back together again. The surgeon she will probably have a bad scar because the cut is right on top of her forehead muscle so it is under constant stress. I feel so bad. I hope her scar turns out better than they hope:( They kept her in the hospital overnight because it was midnight by the time they were all done. Here are some pictures of here this morning. She was her old happy self, even though she was such a sad little picture in her baby gown and monitor cords!

she looked like a little pirate with her big bandage!

Photobucket

she kept trying to eat all the cords and lights:)

I kept pulling her hand away from them and she's smiling because she thought it was a game i guess!

trying to escape...i thought that baby hospital gown was too cute, even though I wished it wasn't my baby wearing it!

Photobucket

as always, all Savannah wanted to do was walk!

poor baby
we were so glad she didn't get cut on her eye at all!

Savannah seems to be doing well. She could only have liquids all night and this morning. (They brought her chicken broth and a popsicle and apple juice and she gobbled up all those and when it was gone she just started yelling! The doctor finally said I could give her formula this morning so then she was happy and went right to sleep.) They gave me her tiny little anesthesia mask to keep - its hot pink:) Also, I did all the flowers for my friends wedding today (which I was planning to go to) but because the ER cut into my corsage-making time, my sisters came over at midnight and we made corsages till 4 in the morning when I went back to the hospital! So thanks to Emily and Anna...I know I was not a joy to work with at 2am! I hope Robin's wedding is amazing today! Savannah is sleeping right now so I am going to sleep to!

Deja Vu

My mom saved this Christmas dress from when I was a baby and so I took pictures of Savannah in it too. I am 11 months old, and Savannah is only 8 1/2 months old but she is taller than I was so I wanted to take pictures while the dress still fit! It's very faded now, but it still looks pretty good for being 24 years old!

Thanksgiving in Cedar City

This Thanksgiving my parents drove from California to be with my mom's parents in Cedar City. We met them there on Wednesday and stayed until Friday to visit. It was a fun trip. My parents even watched Savannah for us so David and I could see a movie. (that hadn't happened in awhile! I always use up all my babysitters for photo stuff). My Grandma and Mom made most of Thanksgiving dinner. My grandma is so funny. She always complains that she doesn't know how to make anything but she is actually a really good cook. Thanksgiving dinner was so good that no one even thought about taking pictures so all our pictures are from pie later on that night. (Savannah got more than a few bites).

David is always amused around my family (a family with only 4 girls works a lot differently than one with 8 boys).

Savannah walking as long as she wants...Grandpa Milne will let her walk around all day holding his hands. He never gets bored and puts her down to play by herself like her mom!

Playing the piano with Grandma - Savannah loves music lately. I thought it was so cute how she kept leaning way back to look up at her like that.

New House

We moved into our new house in Provo almost a month ago and that's how long its taken me to remember to get a picture before the sun goes down!  We are excited not to just be paying rent anymore!  It's an old house (1947) but it's all remodeled so its really cute inside and it has a huge backyard! (my dad keeps telling me with a yard like that I have to get chickens...Let's be honest, I would probably just give up eggs before dealing with gross chickens).  I wanted to put our Christmas wreath up on the door before I took this picture but all I had handy was this Christmas baby...

I will post pictures of the rooms as soon as they are the way I want them:)

At 8 months old Savannah:

-can crawl a little bit but thinks screaming is easier
-LOVES music.  She waits for David's radio alarm to come on every morning and then dances as long as the music is on.
-Has 2 teeth (bottom front)
-Bites everything (including her parents)
-loves to walk around holding someone's hands
-interrupts all conversations with babbling until she is the loudest
-waves goodbye if she is in a good mood
-has tantrums complete with throwing back her head and kicking...hmm.
-likes to get kisses

I wanted to take an angelic little baby picture with this cute pink baby bracelet her cousin Brianna bought for her but all she wanted to do was bite it.
