Books and Thoughts

My whole family loves to read but my sister Emily is especially excited about a new book all the time! This is the lastest book she recommended to me and I am almost finished with it. (I am a really fast reader but I have to say my pace is significantly slower with Savannah trying to eat all my pages!) It is Mere Christianity by C.S. Lewis and I would recommend it to anyone. Whatever your feelings are about Christianity or religion in general, this book will make you think about what you really believe. I think it is really intersting because he writes as a former atheist who has since converted to Christianity. Not all of his beliefs are the same as mine but it made me respect anyone who really thinks about and draws their own conclusions about why they believe what they do. I like to read different things all the time because it helps me get new perspectives that are different than my own take-care-of-a-baby-all-day perspective (which I actually love!) I have started reading to Savannah (despite her page-eating) because my mom reading to me is one of my favorite memories and a big reason why I like it so much. In fact one of my earliest memories is being really jealous when my sister
Emily was born because my mom said she could only read me three books now that she had to take care of Emily too! ha

Tiny Tights!

So I think everyone should live with a baby girl sometime in their lives if only to have a reason to buy baby tights! They are my favorite piece of baby clothing! Savannah's legs look so chubby in these! (As you can see I was so excited to buy these I didn't think that she doesn't really have anything to wear them with yet!) Savannah is in this stage where she doesn't like if anyone walks away from her while she's looking at them - that's why she's looking at me like this!
This picture cracks me up she looks like she's doing the Captain Morgan pose off! This picture makes me laugh cause David is looking at her like he just caught a big fish! (He was getting a little exasperated at me cause I made him help me take pictures just cause of her new tights!)

Big Girl Ponytail

I just had to show everyone my baby's big girl ponytail. I took these pictures because I thinks she looks so old now that her hair is long enough to put all in one ponytail (well almost long enough).
Doesn't she look like a big kid in this picture?!

New Purple Dress

A few days ago I went shopping for a baby shower gift at the Children's Place and ended buying this adorable dress for Savannah even though I planned not to buy anything else...hmmm...i'll have to work on that...But I also decided I love that store! But I'll justify my purchase by pointing out how adorable she looks in her baby leggings!
Even David thought so:)

Also, the other day I was in the dollar store and Savannah started throwing a big-kid tantrum and reaching for this bear. Once she grabbed it she proceeded to bite it all over...probably because she knew I'd feel bad if I didn't buy it once she spit all over it. I guess I should just enjoy this time when the toy she has to have only costs a dollar!

Savannah Hates Shocktarts

Today after church David was eating some Shocktarts and Savannah started whining and reaching for them. I said I didn't think she would like them but she kept whining so he gave her a taste. As you can see from her sour face she quickly discovered she does not like Shocktarts!

New Clothes and Bows

When we woke up on Labor Day to the middle of a hail storm we thought we'd better get Savannah some warmer clothes that actually fit, because all she had that really fit were shorts and sunsuits! So (against David's will) we went shopping! David usually couldn't care less about clothes but he picked this shirt out for Savannah all by himself so I thought that was pretty cute:) Then I found these baby jeans for her and we bought some new bows from a lady my sister in law Aubree told me about and her ensemble was complete! (At least for the moment).

Splash!

Yesterday when i was giving Savannah a bath I splashed the water with her hand and she started cracking up. She never thought that was funny before but last night she would just laugh laugh everytime I splashed her. She was funny though because she didn't understand that she could splash. She would just look up at me like "why has my entertainment stopped?!!"

Boys and Their Toys (and their little girls)

On Labor Day our friend Micah came over with his new rock-climbing little car so we went out in a field past Springville so he and David could try it out (actually i was told it is definately not a cute little car, it is an "RC Crawler" but whatever:) Savannah was scared of it at first and started crying but after awhile she wouldn't stop look at it wherever it went! It thought it was funny because it looks like a good size toy for her instead of Micah and David.

Mesmerized with Micah
I was laughing at the boys because they took all these "portraits" of the car!

Savannah was all enthralled by this pile of bricks for some reason! She wouldn't look up for anything!
Apparently lots of boys like to bring their trucks and play in the mud around here...
After this guy drove through that mud his truck wouldn't start for a minute and he looked REALLY worried so we thought it was probably his dad's truck or something!
So recently Savannah learned how to fake cough and she thinks it is the funniest thing! (I think she caught on that she gets a lot of attention when she caughs because I'm always scared she is choking) For this picture Micah was standing behind me coughing and coughing until she started laughing!
