10 months old

I can't believe Savannah is 10 months old today! Here she is in the cute dress my friend Robin brought back from Mexico for her. (I'm sad it is already almost too small but Robin said the vendor guy in Mexico just kept saying "one size fits all!" - ha ha.) But I still love it:)

Here are some other things Savannah likes to do as a 10 month old:

give kisses (which are really open-mouth bites!)...

Photobucket

eat apples...(I bite it for her and then she sucks out all the juice and then yells at me until I bite it again for her so she can get more juice!) I have loved apples since I was a baby too so this is funny to me:)

Photobucket

get rides in the laundry basket - the other day she was in there for like a half hour and would just not put her legs down if I tried to take her out - after I was done pushing her she just wanted to sit there!

Savannah also likes to crawl everywhere as fast as she can!

Some other things Savannah does are:

-clap her hands
-drink from a sippy cup
-mimic every intonation of my voice when I talk to her
-tear up tissues into little pieces like its her life's mission
-throw things out of the dishwasher
-pull everything out of all the trash cans
-pull out all her diapers from the baskets I keep them in
-dance to music on tv, hymns in church, and the drums from the weird band in the basement across the street from us!
-walk all around the house by herself as long as someone follows her (she checks to make sure you are still there and starts crying and sits down to crawl if she finds she's by herself.)

Savannah and Abby

My friend Crystal and I trade babysitting a lot and these 2 girls are so funny to watch together! They love to feed each other goldfish and hand each other toys. Abby is older than Savannah and can walk really well (Savannah just cruises along the couch unless you pick her up and put her in the middle of the room) and so if Abby starts walking anywhere without her Savannah starts yelling until Abby comes back! She also cries every time Abby has to go home!:(

Happy New Year!

This is pretty much how we've spent the past 2 weeks!

Photobucket

This year David had a lot of vacation time saved up and he had to either use it or lose it so it's been fun to have him home with us for the past 2 weeks. Some of my favorite things about this vacation-at-home were:

-after our niece Alli's blessing, we came home and took a 4 hour nap together - all three of us! Savannah was between us in our bed and she would wake up, see us sleeping and close her eyes like us until she fell asleep again! It was great! (and really unusual!)

-we ate a lot of junk like cookies, taco bell, pizza, chinese food, and coke:)

-we slept in really late a few days!

-we went to Zoo Lights at Hogle Zoo to see my sister in law Aubree sing and Savannah loved watching her sing - it was so cute! She also really liked all the lights.

-we spent Christmas day with David's parents and our little nieces loved it when David would hold Savannah and chase them around with her.

-I got to hold my new niece Alli and new nephew Ezra multiple times:)

-I was all caught up on my picture orders (I'm not anymore!)

-Savannah learned how to walk about 10 steps by herself between David and I. All she wants to do is walk all the time. (I didn't even have a chance to say that she started crawling all over about 3 weeks ago - she's decided she doesn't really like that stage and she'd rather just walk already). It's cute because she is like Dumbo with his magic feather - she will walk all over if you just hold onto one of her fingers and then she'll take about 10 steps by herself when you let go, then she'll realize you let go and dive toward your hands again.

-We went out to dinner with our friends Les and Valerie on New Year's Eve. We went to P.F. Changs for chinese food. It was one of my favorite things because we had fun with Les and Valerie but I have to say I'm really unimpressed with that restaurant. Everyone always raves about how good it is and even though I did like their famous lettuce wraps I'd still rather go to Outback any day! And our waitress was the rudest I've ever had anywhere! But anyway, I'm really happy our family is doing well and I think this will be a good year!

Savannah's First Christmas

We were here at home for Christmas this year (this was the first Christmas ever I haven't been with my whole family). It was actually a lot of fun because we were able to just sit at home without the stress of traveling somewhere. Like most kids Savannah's age, she was mostly into the wrapping paper...

Photobucket

she also thought it tasted great...

Photobucket

But after awhile she got the hang of ripping off paper while David held her presents for her.

Photobucket

And even though she didn't seem to care about most of the stuff she got she did love her new shoes!

Photobucket

She liked her stocking too. Her Great-grandma Childs made it for her. She made me one too so here we are with our matching stockings (even though I look like I'm 12 years old!)

Here she is with her Dad.

Photobucket

This is her new walker (which we gave her several weeks ago for my sake!)

Photobucket

She also loved her new glowworm doll (it plays lullabies). Here she is dancing to it!

Photobucket

This is her with her presents...by this time all she cared about was the jerky she is chewing on!

Photobucket

Here is my present from David...it may not look like much but I have been wanting this flash for over a year so I had a great Christmas! (I also got a faster card reader which saves tons of time when I'm transfering pictures!) David isn't a huge romantic but I'll take this kind of present over jewlery any day!

I wanted to take a picture of David in the new clothes I bought for him but he said no:) He pretty much always gets clothes from me because he hates buying clothes! Case in point: the other day he was wearing a shirt that was his oldest brother Daniel's when he was 15! He says its still perfectly good! I also got him some new hats because the one he's been wearing for the last five years is definately past its prime:)

Savannah's Looking Better

Thank you to everyone who's shown so much interest in how Savannah is doing! She is looking so much better! Here is she is with her cousins Lexie and Kayslee who came to see her the day after we came home (they chose their own outfits:) Savannah loves playing with them and they will walk around with her all day so she loves it!

Photobucket

This is how she looked that night (a little like Frankenstein:(

Photobucket

And here is how she looked on Christmas day...

It looks even better now so we are really glad she is healing so well.
